These are some pictures of the progress while building the bassinette. I added some captions to explain what each one is.
The lighter boards are the rough cherry boards that I milled down and used to make the legs and rails of the bassinette. They will darken with age.
Clamping some of the milled cherry boards together to create the legs.
Got some good squeezeout so I didn't have any problems with separating.
Now I have to scrape off all that excess glue.
Conveniently placed products, like these AMAZING Robert Sorby chisels, in the shot.
Beware Robert Sorby chisels are razor sharp right out of the box.
This is the frame portion of one of the ends of the bassinette.
And here is a picture of both ends waiting for the cherry plywood panels to installed.
And with the panels installed.
These are a few sample pieces to get the slats properly spaced and a good size to fit with the overall scale of the bassinette. (I am pretty sure that is just some scrap pine 2X4.)
This is both sides and the ends glued together. It is sitting on the table saw because that is the flattest surface in my shop and I needed to make sure it was level.
This is the completed frame on the bench with the first coat of Rubio Monocoat clear finish. The color of the cherry starts to show through with a little finish.
